Sometimes by its very nature, the "game" of politics becomes more of a song and dance. That's why I love this little musical parody starring the cartoon versions of Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton.

Coming off of Hiatus to Say…Really Hillary?

December 13th, 2007

From ABC News.com:

Hours after the release of a CNN/WMUR poll showing Obama in a statistical tie with Clinton for the first time among New Hampshire Democratic voters, Billy Shaheen husband of the former governor and an influential Democrat in the Granite State who is a constant presence by Clinton’s side whenever she campaigns there — told The Washington Post that should Obama get the Democratic nomination, “one of the things Republicans are certainly going to jump on is his drug use.

“It’ll be, ‘When was the last time? Did you ever give drugs to anyone? Did you sell them to anyone?’” Shaheen said. “There are so many openings for Republican dirty tricks. It’s hard to overcome.”

Obama campaign manager David Plouffe called the attack “desperate,” and referred to a Clinton campaign attack on Obama — who alludes to Clinton having planned for years, if not decades for her run — for having told his kindergarten teacher he wanted to be president some day.

“Hillary Clinton said attacking other Democrats is the ‘fun part’ of this campaign, and now she’s moved from Barack Obama’s kindergarten years to his teenage years in an increasingly desperate effort to slow her slide in the polls,” Plouffe said.

“By the end of the day, Clinton campaign spokesman Phil Singer had issued a statement asserting that “these comments were not authorized or condoned by the campaign in any way.”"

“And Shaheen himself issued a statement: “I deeply regret the comments I made today and they were not authorized by the campaign in any way.”"

“On Sunday, a second Clinton staffer — Linda Olson, an Iowa County volunteer coordinator, who followed Jones County coordinator Judy Rose — was asked to resign after reporters discovered she had forwarded an e-mail repeating the scurrilous allegation that Obama, a member of the United Curch of Christ, is a Muslim plant.”

Clinton’s husband Bill faced attacks about his past marijuana use when he ran for president in 1992. After then-President George H.W. Bush remarked of Clinton, “This guy couldn’t remember in detail that he didn’t inhale 20 years ago, and he can’t remember what came out of his mouth 20 minutes ago,” Clinton said, “I think that that sort of demeaning talk doesn’t do him any good and only shows the American people how desperate he is to hold onto his job.

Monica Blaire is the truth! Check out her produced video, above, but do yourself the favor of finding out more on her website www.monicablaire.com. Make sure to give “Breathe” a listen, it’s worth it. I’m posting a PSA she did for the America Cancer Society below, just so you can hear her voice a little more clearly…

Oh No…Oprah!

October 29th, 2007

Stunning allegations coming from Oprah’s dream academy in South Africa. Reports are that the girls were physically and in one case, sexually abused by the dorm matrons. One dorm matron has already been dismissed. This is really unfortunate news given that the school has so much positive benefit to convey. I hope that they swiftly address the problem and continue to give those girls the opportunity that they would otherwise never have access to.

Trapped in the…Drive-Thru

October 25th, 2007

Diddy’s promoting Ciroc Vodka, (unfortunately) Malibu, CA is still on fire, Microsoft just paid $250 Million for a sneeze of Facebook and HuffPo says that Christina Aguilera is expecting twins. However, all of that is less shocking, emotionally gut renching, and dramatic as the video above…Weird Al Yancovic does “Trapped In the Drive-Thru.”

Jena 6 - Revisited

October 24th, 2007

If you’ve followed the Jena 6 story, and have any familiarity with the boys involved, you’ll recognize Robert Bailey, Jr. in the above video. That is, if you’re not too distracted from the money falling out of his mouth, or scattered all around him. Evidently he decided to put his legal defense funds to good use, posing with the cash for his myspace page. I wonder where he would get this idea from?

So unfortunate.
